Your support of the Society provides the needed resources to continue our efforts to find cures for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease, and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.

Since its inception in 1949, we have invested over $200 million in research because we believe leukemia research findings are a key to finding cures for all cancers. Treatments such as chemotherapy and bone marrow transplantation, originally developed for leukemia, are now standard treatments for many cancers. In addition to our research programs, we offer support groups, financial aid, information and advocacy programs for patients and their families.

With this letter, I am pleased to send you the Society's most recent newsletter, Newsline, and our 1999 Annual Report, which highlights some of our recent activities. If at any time you have questions about the Society, please feel free to contact me at our Home Office in New York.
